Compilation and Review Update

Speaker: Al Partington, CPA, Professor
 

Al Partington, CPA, is a professor at Pierce College, and a practicing CPA, servicing a variety of small business and individual clients.  He was a manager with Price Waterhouse Coopers, a former vice president of and instructor for the Becker CPA Review Course, and an instructor for the Conviser Duffy CPA Review Course preparing candidates for the CPA exam.  He is a past recipient of the Education Foundation’s Meritorious Service and Instructor Excellence Awards and the AICPA’s Outstanding Instructor Award.

7:55 – 8:05 am: general questions, comments & announcements  
8:06 – 9:00 am: speaker presentation

Our meetings begin with a "General Comments, Questions, and Ideas Session."   Be sure to bring your current thoughts and dilemmas, and get feedback from the group for free!  All presentations qualify for one hour of continuing education credit.

A Accounting and auditing (A&A) courses: pertain to financial statement preparation and/or reporting, auditing, reviews, compilation, industry accounting, attestation services, or assurance services.  In general, the content of accounting software courses does not qualify for A&A credit.
B Board-approved Professional Conduct & Ethics courses.
T Technical subject areas: taxation, consulting, financial planning, computer and information technology (except for word processing), and specialized industry or government practices.
N Non-technical subject areas: communication skills, word processing, sales, marketing, motivational techniques, negotiation skills, office management, practice management, and personal management.
